HELPING THE HELPERS
A growing community of connection, mentorship, healing and possibility for young Indigenous Helpers.
Helpers—you show up for community. Who shows up for you?
You care deeply about your community.
|
You care deeply about your community.
You show up for people, for family, through your work, through your gifts... and sometimes simply because helping is part of who you are. But Helpers need people, too.
Helping the Helpers exists to help build that community. |
This isn't just another workshop.
Helping the Helpers brings young Indigenous Helpers together with one another—and with Elders, Knowledge Carriers, mentors, artists, facilitators, experienced Helpers and others who have something meaningful to share.
We gather in First Nation communities, moving between different lands and creating opportunities to meet different people, experience different teachings, build relationships and learn from the gifts already present within and around our communities.

No two gatherings have to look exactly alike...
At a Helping the Helpers gathering we might....
|
Talk honestly about relationships, identity, boundaries, purpose, work, family—or what it's like being the person everyone seems to come to.
|
Sometimes the most important thing might simply be sitting beside another young Helper and realizing:
I'm not doing this alone.
I'm not doing this alone.
We're not here to tell you who to become.
This matters.
Helping the Helpers isn't about creating one particular kind of leader—or deciding what success should look like for someone else.
|
|
We're surrounding young Helpers with people and possibilities and allowing them to discover who they're becoming.
That's enough.
The village is already here.
Across our communities are people carrying extraordinary knowledge, experience and gifts.

Elders & Knowledge Carriers
Helpers and Mentors People with professional expertise People who have walked some of the road ahead |
Artists and entrepreneurs
Facilitators and community leaders Many want to give back People with lived experience |
At the same time, young Indigenous Helpers are stepping into important roles, carrying responsibility and trying to find their own way.
Helping the Helpers builds the bridge.
Between generations.
Between communities.
Between people looking for support and people with something meaningful to share.
Between gifts and the places those gifts are needed.
Because sometimes community building isn't about creating something that doesn't exist.

It's about connecting what is already here.
We're starting with gatherings. We're building toward community.
Helping the Helpers is launching in Mid and Southwestern Ontario, but the vision isn't limited by geography.
We want to build relationships between Helpers.
Between generations. Between communities.
We want young people to have people around them who want to see them thrive—not just professionally, but as human beings.
And over time, some of today's young Helpers may become tomorrow's mentors, Knowledge Carriers, artists, facilitators, community builders and Helpers for someone coming behind them.
And those people will influence others.
Families. Workplaces. Relationships. Communities. Future generations.

That's how the ripple grows...

Created by Heather CabralHelping the Helpers grew from something I've seen again and again:
There are young people carrying a lot—and there are people all around us carrying knowledge, experience and gifts that could help them. My role isn't to have every answer. I'm a community builder and connector. I see people, ideas, gifts and possibilities—and often I can see where they might meet. That's what I'm doing here. I'm bringing people together. Creating the container. Contributing my own gifts where they're useful. And leaving room for other people to bring theirs. I see the possibility. I build the bridge. And then I trust people to choose what they do with it. |
